Andy: How's it going?

Samantha Bevins: Pretty good...how's it going for you?

Andy: Pretty good over here....I guess, first off, how old are you?

Samantha Bevins: I'm 17...18 next June 30th. So, send presents. :)

Andy: Heh. What feds are you presently in, with what characters?

Samantha Bevins: Right now, I am only in one league, which is the IWF/WOW. The league has been running about five years or so...I've been there about three months with my main e-wrestling character, "Sensuous" Samantha. Other than that, I am looking for a league for my tag team, PPD.

Andy: How long have you been involved in "fantasy wrestling"?

Samantha Bevins: I've been in this "sport" for over four years now.

Andy: What got you into fantasy wrestling to begin with?

Samantha Bevins:: I had a good friend that I met in WWF Chat on America Online who ran a league. He kept asking me to "manage" him and all this. I wasn't into it at first, but when I finally sat down and studied the concept, I enjoyed it. So, I managed him first ("The Franchise" Andru Edwards) and before long, I broke away and had my own e-wrestling characters and even ran two, very successful leagues.

Andy: What would you say are some of the things that really make the whole process of writing out things for your character, and everything else involved, FUN?

Samantha Bevins: The people I meet always make it fun...I love managing another character and working with different handlers. I think that's the whole concept of it. Also, the federation as a whole can make it extremely fun with interesting angles, plots and interviews.

Andy: Any drawbacks you have found along the way?

Samantha Bevins: Yup, a lot. I've ran into someother handlers who wanted too much to defeat me...when in reality, this wasn't even REAL. Some have held a huge personal grudge against me. Other than that, I've had a lot of fun and never really had problems working with my characters.

Andy: Was it the fact that you're a girl, in a mainly male dominated hobby?

Samantha Bevins: No, it's actually been with other female handlers. I don't know if it's jealously or what. But, besides that, I have encountered a lot of males who don't want me in this sport. I look past it all and try my best to just keep it going as I always have. Sometimes others take the fun out of it.

Andy: I agree with you on that. Some take it further than it should be.

Would you say there is any mindset you get into before writing?

Samantha Bevins: Yes, definitely. Before I sit down and begin to write a flash, I have to be in the "mood." What I mean is that I have to concentrate fully on what I am going to write. Some of my favorite music always helps and usually being alone, too.

Andy: What kind of music really sets you up?

Samantha Bevins: Stuff that I really listen to all the time. I listen to a varity of music...but nothing heavy, heavy metal or rap for me. :)

Andy: I guess that means no punk rock, either :)

Samantha Bevins: No, 'fraid not. :)

Andy: Damn..... But overall, who would you say your favorite band or artist is?

Samantha Bevins: My favorite bands are Bon Jovi, Next, Aerosmith and yes...the Backstreet Boys! :) I also love oldies music, like Meatloaf, Chicago, Cheap Trick, etc. Anything you'll find on those Monster Ballad CDs.

Andy: Hmmm...no comment on backstreet boys :)

Samantha Bevins: Jealous, huh? :)

Andy: Haha....sounds like my older neice talking, now

Samantha Bevins: Well, I can't resist them.

Andy: I guess I know where you coming from on looks...*cough* Brittney *cough *Spears *cough* looks *cough* good *cough* too *cough*

Samantha Bevins: LOL

Andy: Well, from boy bands to wrestling....are you into wrestling a lot?

Samantha Bevins: I'm a HUGE wrestling fan. I've been watching for over 11 years now...all WWF. I cannot stand WCW. But, I've been a fan of WWF since Shawn Michael's was a Rocker and Hulk Hogan had hair.

Andy: Who would you say is your favorite?

Samantha Bevins: My alltime favorite is Brian Christopher. I don't know why, there's just something about him. I also like The Rock, Jericho, Test and Ivory.

Andy: Would you say that "Sensuous" Samantha is modeled (i don't ever know if that's the right spelling) after anyone in pro wrestling, or more of a character who is in your head?

Samantha Bevins: Yup, definitely. She's a somewhat version of the older and much cooler Sunny when she managed the Bodydonnas in the WWF a while back. "Sensuous" Samantha is one of those who fights back and usually takes control of every single thing she can. Nowadays, she reminds me of Dawn Marie from ECW (who rocks, I mind you). She's silly, intelligent, seductive and cunning...she's my own creation. :)

Andy: You feel you "know" your character now, in regards to some people who are still trying to figure out what they want with their character?

Samantha Bevins: Yes, very much so. Sometimes, even though it sounds crazy, it's like I do know her. (Sorry guys, she's not real.) Her personality is somewhat like mine, as are the attributes that she has. I think one of the whole points of e-wrestling is developing a character from your own mind and learning how to use them, even though they aren't real. It's a combination of things.

Andy: I think it's good to probably incorporate a lot of yourself into your character, which helps you even understand the character a little more.

Samantha Bevins: I agree. It helps you learn more about what YOU want from them.

Andy: Exactly! Well, what's some things you like doing in your free time, other than roleplaying?

Samantha Bevins: Well, I love music, like I said before. I'm a bookworm, too. I read a lot. I also design websites from time to time, hang out with my friends, rollerblade and talk on the phone.

Andy: What kind of books are you into?

Samantha Bevins: Anything that catches my eye. I like mysteries a lot. Patricia Cornwell is one of my favorites. I also like romances...but what girl doesn't? :)

Andy: Books, I think, are something that few can enjoy, but are something that are really something that people should try.....

You said you like running sites. You have a site for Samantha. What's some of the things you like about running a character site? Maybe that you can delve deeper into what your character is all about, as opposed to trying to explain everything in just rp's?

Samantha Bevins: Exactly. I love managing a website, and I have enough time to mantain this one. I've had the Sammy site for over three years now...it's grown so much more popular and interesting within the year that it has amazed me. The options that I have on the site emphasize the character's physical and mental features. It let's the "audience" or "fans" get to know her like I do.

Andy: I know....and also, you can do whatever you want with it, because it's just about a character in your head. There's no pressure to keep it updated all the time, but a person wants to if they enjoy their character a lot.

Samantha Bevins: I agree. I update my site every day that I am able to. I am always adding new features to it.

Andy: Well, the link for anyone who wants to check out the site after reading this is located below...

Any last comments or words you'd like to say before we come to a close?

Samantha Bevins: Well, thanks for letting me do this. It's the first time that I've ever done an "out of character" persay interview. It was a lot of fun, too...and guy who interviewed me was such a gentleman. :) Anyway, as I said before, "Sensuous" Samantha is like a part my imagination that I have developed into my own.

Andy: Thanks for the interview.

Samantha Bevins: No problem. It was all your pleasure...oh sorry, that was a little Sensuous Samantha coming out in me. :)
